In November 2024, the University of Texas at Austin unveiled its cutting-edge Robbins Pulastic “Intense” fencing surface in Belmont Hall, a premier facility within the iconic Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium (DKR). Known as the heart of Texas athletics, DKR is home to the celebrated Longhorns football program and a hub for state-of-the-art athletic facilities. This latest upgrade reflects UT Austin’s commitment to providing top-tier resources for its athletes.
The new Pulastic “Intense” flooring is a highly resilient yet durable seamless surface, designed to meet the demanding needs of modern fencing. Its construction features a 10 mm shock pad topped with a stone gray urethane structural layer and topcoat. White boundary markings provide precision for the field of play, while bold red accent areas add a striking visual element to the design.
Installed in Belmont Hall, the Pulastic floor enhances both performance and safety, offering exceptional durability and ease of maintenance. This installation marks another milestone in UT Austin’s pursuit of excellence, setting a benchmark for athletic facilities nationwide.
With this innovative addition, the university reinforces its reputation as a leader in collegiate sports infrastructure. Plans for future projects, including a similar flooring system for the cheerleading room, demonstrate UT Austin’s forward-thinking approach to athletics and facility development.
