Elma Roane Fieldhouse

Location: University of Memphis
Date Completed: Summer 2021
Manufacturer: Gametime Graphics / Bona USA / Covington

Constructed in 1950, the Elma Roane Fieldhouse serves as the Tigers “home court” for women’s basketball at the University of Memphis.

The Fieldhouse is named for former women’s athletic director Elma Neal Roane, A champion for women’s athletics in Memphis, the Mid-South and the nation.

Prepping for the 2020-21 season, a major renovation led by local design firm, Fleming Architects, the facility is undergoing an extensive facelift that will update the gym’s appearance and include needed amenities for players and fans.

Covington sales consultant, Erica Parker, assisted in the court line design, markings and graphics as the existing maple hardwood floor is refinished.

The current $3.5 million project is the second significant upgrade to the facility in recent years. The last being a multi-phase plan improving “behind-the-scenes” areas of the Fieldhouse.
