Christ Presbyterian Academy – Nashville
Welcome to “Projects in Action”.
Today, we’re in “Nashville, Tennessee”, at “Christ Presbyterian Academy”, where a remarkable new chapter in the school’s athletic story is taking shape. See Reel here:
“Fortis Arena”, which opened in January 2026, is much more than a new gymnasium. It’s a beautiful new athletics and wellness facility designed by Nashville’s “HASTINGS Architecture” and made possible through CPA’s ““Unseen Stories”” campaign.
Under one roof, the facility brings together a “1,500-seat gymnasium”, a complete training and weight facility, and dedicated space for sports medicine — creating a place where student-athletes can train, compete, recover, and grow.
And right at the heart of it all is a floor that is every bit as distinctive as the facility itself.
The playing surface is a Robbins BioChannel Star™ maple system, installed in the classic “Boston Square pattern” — a signature Robbins design that gives the floor a rich, unmistakable appearance.
The pattern is created using Robbins’ “Continuous-Strip XL™ Maple”, precisely cut to the proper lengths and then carefully installed piece by piece to create that familiar matrix design. It takes craftsmanship, patience, and attention to detail — and the finished floor speaks for itself.
And projects like this don’t simply happen on their own.
A special shout-out goes to “Erica Parker“, Covington’s Nashville-based sales professional who worked closely with the owner, architect, and general contractor throughout the process. From the early conversations and planning stages through the coordination that helped bring the finished project together, Erica played a vital role in helping turn a vision on paper into the beautiful facility you see today.
For those of us at “Covington”, that kind of partnership is what makes a project like this especially rewarding.
